Snow Dog

After lots of freezing cold temperatures...-28 yesterday with the wind chill, the dogs and I were ready to move.  It was much nicer out today and we had a nice long walk and a run in the park this morning.  Got a few photos of Sophie having fun.

The Down-side of Snow

The dogs are enjoying the snow.  Sophie especially.  Yes it's great when we are outside and we had lots of fun on our walk today but these snow balls are ridiculous!

Daphne and Sophie playing

I wanted to get on video Sophie and the cat playing together.  They get along very well together.  Daphne our cat is very tolerant of Sophie and in fact she seems to enjoy all of the attention.

The Up-side of Snow

Here is a video of Quincy playing with his ball in the snow.  I had to get a video of it because it is the strangest thing.  He tries to roll the ball backwards and I can't figure out why.  It is a holey ball so perhaps he is trying to pack it full of snow?  I haven't got a clue but it is fun to watch him.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0ru7XWEKoA

The Hol-ee Roller

The red ball that you see the dogs playing with is called a Hol-ee Roller.  This toy is amazing. We have a couple of them and they have lasted for *years*.  They are made from 100% natural rubber and they really are indestructible. http://www.jwpet.com/innovations.htm  They are available at most pet supply stores.

We Have Snow!

Finally after waiting for the snow it arrived. These pictures were taken on January 8th.  The children are thrilled and the dogs are delighted :0) Both of the dogs are having a great time and Sophie is very much enjoying her first winter.

Happy New Year

New Years Wishes to Everyone.  We all had a great Christmas here and everyone is doing well.  Took the camera with me today on our walk and thought I would post a couple of pictures to the blog.  Yesterday Sophie turned 8 months old.  I can't believe how fast the time is going by.

As you can see from the photo we are sadly lacking in the snow department.  The kids especially miss the white stuff.  No snowmen, snow angels, tobogganing etc.... On the bright side the dogs don't have to contend with snowballs and sidewalk salt in their fur and feet and walks are definitely easier.

Good Girly - what a gooooood hold!
Here is my handsome boy Quincy.  He's looking pretty darn good for a 9 1/2 year old!

I love this photo - to me it looks like he is smiling :0)
