Upcoming Litter at Northrock Barbets

Northrock Barbets is happy to share that Ellie (URO1 CH Northrock’s Eau de Joy CGN) has been bred to Boomer (Northrock’s All Night Boogie) and we are expecting puppies mid January!

Ellie is a friendly Barbet with a calm and gentle nature.  She loves to swim, even in the coldest water!  Ellie has a UKC rally-obedience title and a CKC conformation title.  

Boomer is a fun loving Barbet.  He is a sweet dog with dark brown eyes and a gentle expression.  Athletic and well proportioned, he is a moderate male with a lovely temperament.  

Both Boomer and Ellie have OFA Good hips, normal elbows, eyes, heart and thyroid. They are both clear for dilution. Clearances for both dogs are available on the OFA public database.  

With this breeding we hope to produce healthy puppies with good structure, type and temperament that will make outstanding companions. 

New Titles Earned at Northrock

It has been a successful month at Northrock Barbets as a few of the Barbet girls brought home some new titles in Rally Obedience*.

UCH Nuphar's Soak Up The Sun RN CGN "Summer" with her rosettes from her first two CKC RN legs

Summer now has her CKC Rally Novice title earning the title in three straight trials with a 93, 98 and 96.

In UKC Rally, Summer, Sophie and Ellie each earned the title of URO1.  We are really enjoying the sport of rally-obedience.  

A big thank you to Ellie's co-owner, Lise Pomeroy for putting the first two legs of Ellie's title on her.  All of the dogs worked well and earned some really nice scores.

UKC Premier 2016

I have just returned from a trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan to participate in events at the UKC Premier dog show.  Lise Pomeroy and her Barbet Ellie (CH Northrock's Eau De Joy CGN) joined Summer (Nuphar's Soak Up The Sun) and I for a fun filled few days enjoying dog sports.  

We participated in conformation, lure coursing and rally-obedience events and Ellie tried dog diving.  In performance events both Ellie and Summer each came away with two legs towards a lure coursing title and one leg towards a rally title, qualifying in each new event they entered.

It was a joy to spend time with other Barbets and their wonderful owners and to finally meet some of the dogs and people in person.  

New CKC Champion and Canine Good Neighbour titles for Ellie!

I'm delighted to announce that Ellie, CH Northrock's Eau de Joy CGN one of the Winston x Sophie puppies is now a CKC Champion.  Ellie finished her championship as a young puppy.  Along the way she won Best Puppy in Sporting Group twice under judges Avery Gaudin and Dr. Richard Meen.  Lise Pomeroy (Ellie's awesome co-owner) and I are grateful to the judges for recognizing her quality and to Peter Scott her handler for piloting Ellie to her wins in the conformation ring.

Ellie also recently earned her Canine Good Neighbour title .  It has been an exciting beginning for our little minx who now has titles at both ends of her name.  We are looking forward to seeing what Ellie and Lise will get up to next!
